When it comes to golf in North Wales, Silver Birch has been leading the way for nearly three decades.
Located in the heart of Betws yn Rhos, a stunning village near the coastal
town of Abergele, Conwy, is our impressive 18-hole golf course with panoramic views of North Wales’ most beloved landscapes.

was
founded by Bryn and Menna Jones in the mid-
nineties and o
f
cially opened in June 1995
when these local legends transformed their
farmland into a top Welsh golf course with
beautiful views all around. Back then, it was a
9-hole course (the front 9, as you’d know
them today).
By 2002, we enlisted designer Stewart Finney
once again to complete the masterpiece,
launching the back 9 holes in 2004 - a more
challenging addition in comparison to the
open pasture of the original course.
The back 9 holes were framed by stunning
Silver Birch trees to define the fairways and
inject excitement and interest for the more
competitive player looking for an exhilarating
golf day out.
From its launch, Silver Birch was proud to be
the first pay and play golf course in North
Wales, where everybody of all levels and
abilities could play golf to their hearts'
content; established for beginners who
wanted to dip their toes into the golfing world
without the stresses of membership fees, for
those who enjoy golf days out with family and
friends, as well as for the avid golfer looking to tee off at a sought-after golf course.

We’ve made it our mission to provide our players with the

has to offer. Each day, our team is out there trimming, cutting
and pruning, making sure our greens stand apart from other
golf courses, manicuring our fairways and ensuring every
aspect of the course is maintained to the highest possible
standard to guarantee you have an unforgettable golfing
experience
In early 2023, we were delighted to
acquire Silver Birch Golf Club and
make it the newest member of our
Actually Group family.
Since then, it’s been an exciting journey for our team, building on the fantastic foundations
already established, continuing the daily upkeep of our stunning greens to ensure they remain
the best in North Wales, launching our lovely bistro Urbane - a modern and stylish take on the
traditional clubhouse with a delicious daytime and evening menu offering dishes that visitors
have loved – and providing golfers of all levels with an enjoyable and memorable experience.
